Goose Island Blueberry Beer Cocktail

Ingredients:
For the blueberry simple syrup:
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
1 pint fresh blueberries

For the cocktail:
2 teaspoons blueberry simple syrup
5 fresh blueberries
1/3 cup very cold tonic water
1/3 cup very cold Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale

Directions:
For the blueberry simple syrup:

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water and sugar and mix until sugar has dissolved. Add blackberries and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, until mostly collapsed. Remove blackberry mixture from heat, press through a fine-mesh strainer into a bowl, and let the syrup rest until fully cooled.

For the cocktail:

Pour the chilled blueberry syrup in the bottom of a glass. Add the blueberries and the tonic water and top with very cold beer. Serve immediately.
