Brokelyn: $20 beer and wine festival celebrating booze in Bed-Stuy Saturday

We all love booze (most of us anyway), and especially when we’ve got a ton of local booze lined up for us to taste. That’s why it’s time to get excited, because Arts+Crafts (they of Bushwick Beverages) and Tap+Cork are teaming up to for the second ever Brooklyn Beer and Wine Festival at Bed-Stuy’s Restoration Plaza (1368 Fulton Street), next Saturday, August 16. Beer nerds, winos and foodies, your (affordable) event of the summer has arrived. If you’re like us and opted out of calculus in eleventh grade, let us break this down for you real quick: Arts+Crafts + Tap+Cork + beer + wine+ just $20 for fifteen drink tickets = happy. Now add that to bringing better beverage brands to Brooklynites and Bed-Stuy businesses, and you’ve got a sentence with a lot of B’s. Click here to continue reading

Best Beers For Fall: 8 Craft Brews You’ll Love

Okay, okay, so fall’s almost over. But the season for warm layers, football and darker ales is still upon us! Check out these great craft beer selections served up by Men’s Fitness and Joe Tracy, of Bierkfraft, a Brooklyn store that boasts more than 1,000 beers that rotate seasonally. Founders Brewing Co. – Harvest Ale Michigan Est. Calories: 195, ABV: 6.50% Made by Founders Brewery out of Michigan, this fresh hop brew, which is hazy-orange in color, has a sweet, herbal hop taste with a hint of tangerine citrus and a light grass note, and it finishes with toasted malt undertones. “This is, without a doubt, one of the best fresh hop beers on the market,” Tracy said. Find it every year starting in October.

Picture Day

Thank you D. Robert Wolcheck of Brooklyn Exposed for these great pics! Wolcheck said our Beer & Wine Fest in Bed Stuy felt like his first summer block party! This is just one of the great shots from Wolcheck’s collection, the featured image came from Tap+Cork staff. This winter we are coming to you again with the Winter Solstice! I expect more beer; more wine; more food; and, more amazing folks to share time and space. http://brooklynexposed.com/photo-gallery/scenes-from-tap-cork-beer-wine-fest-brooklyn

Gothamist | Get Boozy In Bed-Stuy At The Brooklyn Beer And Wine Festival Tomorrow

Gothamist Rebecca Fishbein in Food on Aug 17, 2013 Brooklyn isn’t exactly shy about feting its own brews and bottles these days—but considering that the borough puts out such a bevy of locally-made drinks and foodstuffs, you can hardly blame it for taking the opportunity to celebrate. And the Tap+Cork Brooklyn Beer and Wine Festival, which kicks off tomorrow at The Lab in Bedford-Stuyvesant, aims to be a doozy, serving up samples from local breweries and wineries like Peek Organic and Fox Run vineyards. The festival is co-sponsored by Bed-Vyne Brews, a neighborhood bar that opened earlier this summer and is run by the folks behind pioneering wine shop Bed-Vyne Wine; YRB Magazineand Manhattan Beer Distributors have also lent a hand to the festival. And it’s a pretty sweet deal: $20 gets you a sample glass and 20 drink tickets, so you can try offerings from brewers like Captain Lawrence,…
